PATCHWORK HULL

FINALLY

:idea: I have been struggling with creating a hull. My issue has been when i save and review my work the hull is a patchwork of layers that are in the wrong place. The look can be discribed as an abstract work of art.
My problem was that when I was working on my project I was rotating the image around 90 degrees 180 degrees etc. to better orient the template as I was adding text or defining layers. My mistake was when I went to save and export to .dds I didn't reorient the template back to its origanal position. The little things have to be right or your work goes down the drain. Brother.......this little thing was so important and was holding me back.
Next issue to overcome TRANSPARENT SAILS....still haven't got it yet. again it will be a little thing when I have my break through.

Try and explain what you are doing with your sails step by step if possible. Maybe we can help

Not sure if this will help at all, but I sometimes (not always) I actually edit the sails in Paint Shop, yes very basic program, but I can add logos etc without any problems. I simply "save as" the sail file to a prepared folder "ARC SKIN" where all logos and other files for the slkin are kept.

I save the file as a PNG image (doesnt blurr), the image is then opened with Paintshop and I go to work. When I am happy with the image as is I will open the file with "Photoshop" or "Gimp" and play some more with the image...add the alpha channel and simply save the file again to the above file again...this time as a dds, wash it through the Nadeo program an bang done. I will simply then add the dds to the Skin Folder.

I know it seems like quite a process, but it really isnt, and sometime a simple program like "Paintshop" is far easier to navigate. I guess what Im saying is there is always more than one way to skin a cat (no pun intended ). I guess whatever it takes to get the job done.
